The first link posted was to free online tutoring for the children of Armed Forces personnel. The Forces have around two million active and reserved personnel. Mrs Trump tweeted: “To our unforgettable military families: in these unusual times, there are various resources available – such as free online tutoring & homework for U.S. military & their children provided by the U.S. Department of Defense & Coast Guard Mutual Assistance: military.tutor.com/home.”

This was followed by another tweet: “Even though some of our National Parks are currently but temporarily closed, students can still learn about & virtually visit some of our country’s great national parks online: https://artsandculture.withgoogle.com/en-us/national-parks-service/

The national parks available to take virtual tours around are Kenai Fjords, Hawai’i Volcanoes, Carlsbad Caverns, Bryce Canyon and Dry Tortugas.

Mrs Trump’s husband US President Donald Trump was tested for coronavirus last week and the result was negative.

Trump was tested after several members of a Brazilian delegation to his Florida Mar-a-Lago resort tested positive.

However, Twitter users used the tweets from Mrs Trump to criticise her husband’s response to the crisis.

One wrote: “Go away and take Donald Trump with you.

“We need a real leader in the White House like Joe Biden.”

Another wrote: “Cool. #WhereAreTheTestKits #WhereAreTheVentilators,”

Another said: “Thank You For Your Service!!!”

One added: “We love you – thank God President Trump & you!”

Yet another said: “Thank you Flotus for everything you do. Stay safe.”

According to NBC News, cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed in all 50 states of the USA.

More than a thousand cases had been confirmed in New York, California and Washington by Saturday.

Cases have also appeared in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

Trump generated controversy after referring to the virus as the “Chinese virus” in a press conference.

The incumbent is seeking the Republican nomination to stand for re-election in November.
